B & I Contractors has a 10,000-square-foot pipe fitting facility with state-of-the-art prefabrication capabilities for piping and light structural materials such as pipe spools, condenser skids, pump skids, pipe racks, MEP racks, pipe stands, equipment stands, re-heat coils, AHU pipe headers, and more.

Prefabricated Sheet Metal

Using a dedicated 19,000-square-foot facility for Sheet Metal fabrication, B & I Contractors produces about 2 million pounds of duct per year. In addition to prefabricating 10-foot to 25-foot duct, B & I installs taps and accessories. This minimizes the need to supply these individual parts to your jobsite. 

State-of-the-Art Equipment Includes:

  • 2019 Iowa Precision Coil Line with 6 decoilers and an inline plasma table, capable of fabricating 26ga coiled steel to 16ga coiled steel (grease duct) and 18ga stainless steel  
  • Two 20’ plasma tables for fabricating various fittings and curbs   
  • A spiral machine capable of producing 4’’ up to 44’’ spiral   

All of our machines download directly from Autodesk CAMduct software that is linked to each individual jobsite’s BIM model through Autodesk Revit. Parts and pieces fabricated are exact dimensions that are coordinated in the 3D model.

The 3,850-square-foot plumbing prefabrication operation at B & I Contractors produces a variety of prefabricated items.
